Since 2008, we have been writing and independently developing creative properties for a wide variety of projects in film, print and pop music. Over the past decade our catalogue of completed and copyrighted works has grown significantly. Also, our works in-development continue to grow, giving us a full slate of work for years to come.
East Stream Studio is overseen by Stefan and Robin Liner. The son/mother team each bring different areas of expertise to the company.
Stefan has worked in the entertainment industry since he was 14. He began as an actor with bit parts on shows like Travel Channels “Haunted Hotels” to larger roles on stage such as when he conquered the role of Laertes in the famed Montford players (The largest Shakespearian theater group on the East Coast) production of Hamlet to rave reviews. But he soon found that his true passion was producing and directing. He has written, produced, directed and done voice overs for commercials all across the country, Produced music videos, was 1st AD on the feature film, Gold Dust, being released in 2017 and has just released East Stream Studio’s first complete season of the Web-series, When Fact Met Fiction.
Robin began as an armature in theater but ended up pursuing a music career, as Robyn Pope, that had her working with or opening for producers like ‘Country Music hall of Famer’ Jerry Wallace, Will MacFarlane and B.J. Thomas. She toured all over the United States and abroad and topped radio charts in the CCM genre. She did voice over/ talking head work on projects for various companies and the Department of Forestry. But for the last decade she has returned to her theater and storytelling roots as both a screenwriter who has made the semi-finals of screenplay competitions and as a director who has directed both stage productions and now a Web-series.
The Liner family has also employed other family members. Ethan Liner is a professional storyboard artist, and music producer who is often called on to help with both art direction and music. And Josef Liner has an acting role in When fact Met Fiction Season 1.
With a self-funded approach, East Stream Studio has brought our first in-house project to post-production for release as a web-series. On December 2, 2016, Season 1 of When Fact Met Fiction debuted on YouTube. It’s an 8-episode romantic comedy shot on-location in Asheville, NC featuring a full cast of both established and aspiring talent. It is as fun to watch and it was to shoot.
Season 2 has been greenlighted with a larger budget. This time around East Stream is moving the project forward with a crowdfunding approach.
